Comunications and Access

Train
There are three different lines giving train access to the province of Alicante:

Madrid-Alicante (connecting with the North of Spain)
Barcelona-Alicante (connecting with the rest of Europe)
Alicante-Murcia

Aeroplane
The airport closet to Alicante is the international airport "El Altet", with flights available to and from all major European cities; other neighbouring international airports are in Murcia (San Javier), Valencia (Manises), Madrid (Barajas) and Barcelona (El Prat).

"El Altet" international airport is half an hour by car from the University Campus of San Juan, leaving the airport by the national road N-338, connect with the Mediteranian Motorway (A-7/E-15) direction "Valencia"

Car
Access from Madrid and central zones of Spain is via the national highway N-III which links to the N-430 before entering the province of Alicante by the N-330.

From the northern (Cataluña, Valencia) and southern (Murcia, Andalucía), Mediterranean coast access is via the Mediterranean Highway (A-7/E-15).

All major roads in the province of Alicante link to the city of Alicante and consequently with the Institute of Neurociencias.

Buses
The bus company La Alcoyana runs the service from Alicante to the Institute of Neurosciences at the Campus Sant Joan d´Alacant.
